Picnic at the Park

ladyherndon Home, Turkey

Right before Mother’s Day, we met our good friends Stevan and Angela down at the park for a picnic and some kite-flying. We got to meet their new baby girl, Seylah, and play with their son, Benjamin, who has a sort of awe for Prince because of his collection of Thomas trains.

Stevan and Angela are here with a company working on translating the Bible into some of the languages of Eastern Turkey. Their primary goal during their first couple of years is to learn Turkish and befriend their neighbors so that they are trusted and respected. They need the help of Turks themselves to get the translations right, but they can’t just announce that at the beginning. They are committed to living here for many years and integrating themselves into Turkish society, being living testimonies of God’s grace. God is using them and the other people on their team in a very exciting way.
