NightVision

We took the family down to Montrose for the weekend to spend time with Grandma Marlene. I attended the Black Canyon Quilt Show with her and Princess in the morning, and no sooner had we walked in the door than Princess won a door prize! Grandma Marlene said that was the first time she had ever won anything at an event like this. I said (but kindly), “You still haven’t! Princess won it!”

She got back at me by buying me a raffle ticket for a quilt drawing.

After eating a huge lunch (preventative eating against the prices of fair food), Lord Herndon and I took Prince up to Olathe to attend the free NightVision festival.

Olathe. Population 1,573 as of 2000. Home to the Olathe Sweet Corn Festival. Miles from anywhere. And the site of tens of thousands of Christians, singing along with their favorite bands, all for free.

Prince got to see his favorite band, Sanctus Real, perform live. Lord Herndon took him up front his his shoulders, and Prince rocked it out.

See them there in the lower left hand corner?

The funny thing is, Prince bursts out crying when we try to take him to the theater, saying it is too loud and scary.

Yet he loved seeing a live band perform.

???

He also loved the snacks, the bouncy castles, and his new “light saber” sword.

This may become a tradition for our kids when they are five.
