I was sitting outside watching Prince and Princess play in the cool evening while Lord Herndon and Sweet Pea were at the store getting Vital Necessities of Life (aka coffee and diapers). The kids asked me where God was and I told them to look up and they could see Him smiling down at them through the clouds, and if they were quiet, they would hear Him speaking to them in the wind. They asked me what He was saying, so I pulled Princess in really close and whispered in her ear:
“I love you! You are beautiful. I made you just the way I wanted you. You make Me very happy. Keep loving my son Jesus.”
She scrunched up her shoulders and giggled and ran off to think about that for awhile.
Meanwhile, Prince asked me what God was saying to him, so I whispered to him:
“I love you! You are My good boy. I am so proud of you. Keep loving my son Jesus and one day, I’ll take you to live with Me in heaven.”
Prince grinned at me, then walked off by himself in the grass, threw his head back, and yelled at the sky:
“Hey God! I would love to go to heaven with you. But not yet. Not right now when Mommy is alone.”
And…my heart was a puddle.
