Farewell California! Our time there was amazing, and we fulfilled all the kids’ dreams!
We drove through the night (again) on the way back to meet Aunt Cynthia, Uncle Dave, cousin Jocelyn and her daughter Gwen at Winter Park, Colorado, where they have a time share every summer. Jocelyn and Gwen and Mike’s cousin Brian live in San Francisco but come here for a week or two every year. We usually end up missing them because this last week of summer before school is sometimes hard for us to drive up to Winter Park for the week, but it was great this year that we were able to see them on our way back home.
Alex and Gwen enjoyed the climbing wall, and we all spent a lot of time on the Alpine Slide, the longest one in Colorado! We also saw a mother moose and her calf several times from the chair lift, and they had to close the slide until they moved on because moose are so aggressive. Especially mother moose!
We enjoyed over-sized ice cream and over-sized games too.
Penny was so crazy on the slide, she kept pushing the lever forward to make you go faster and faster! Every adult who rode with her experienced the thrill, and they all insisted I had to try it once before we left. After riding with Penny, I need to call her Penny Coaster from now on! She scared me!
And all the boys had a go at the bungee trampoline jumping.
What a way to end our vacation! And a great Welcome Home to Colorado, the best state of all.
