Every year, the girls absolutely love going to the Daddy Daughter Dance at the Y. Last year there was a bad snowstorm so we weren’t able to go, so we were very happy with warm weather this time and a fun theme: Candy Land!
Evelyn’s dress is from her birthday. I made it to match one of her dolls’ dresses:
Penny looks like a lemon drop, I think, and Evelyn said she was a bon-bon. They danced all night, apparently, and ate nothing more than candy and treats for dinner. They also had a photo taken, which I will add when I get it back. Sounds like an epic night to me!

When the girls go with Daddy, I always have the boys take me out to dinner to show them how to treat a girl on a date one day.
How cute are they? I absolutely love how Alex acts on these dates. He loves everything about the Adult World and I let him be in charge of ordering, talking to the waiter, even paying! He opens doors for me, helps me take off my coat, pulls out my chair, asks me if I need anything else. We talk about things he’s interested in, things I’m interested in, some plans for the future. It’s so special to spend time dedicated to 1 or 2 of them at a time.
Theo was wonderful too, so polite and affectionate and friendly. It’s one of our favorite traditions and we look forward to it every year.
