Valentine’s Decor

Happy Month of Love! I’ll do my best to celebrate the month of my birthday and the lovely holiday, though I can’t compete with my sister Rebekah, who was with her family in PARIS on Valentine’s Day! That takes the cake.

I was proud of myself for decorating for the month. It felt good to do a full house-cleaning after we took the Christmas decor stuff down, but then I wanted something to mark the month so I sewed up some new pillow covers for the throw pillows we received for Christmas and was able to decorate the mantel with items I already had, one new mirrored-word piece, and a family photo that I ModgePodged onto a canvas.

The tiny wagon, which I found at a thrift store, is full of books about love.

A few romantic books! Our two Kyrgyz figures that were a gift from friends at the school where we taught for two years. Alarm clock from IKEA. Flowers from the girls’ room.

Our upper living room. The two prints are engineering blueprints from Staples for $7 each! So affordable, and nice sharp colors in the photo. Frames on sale at Michael’s. Two new heart pillowcases sewn by Yours Truly! The back is packed strawberry cotton.

Stay tuned for next month, when I will try to make our house look St. Patrick’s Day green/Easter/Springtime!
