Whenever we can, Mike and I love running the Bolder Boulder. I first did it with Erin and Shannon back in 2003 while we were training for the Chicago Marathon. We ran it sporadically after that, finding caring souls to watch our kids and figuring out how early we needed to get up to drive there. This year, we were so excited to get to run it in costume, and with our friend Matt from church!
Yes, I was sewing my costume the night before and literally finished it a few minutes before getting in the car to drive there. But I think we make an awesome X-Men trio!
Mike got the most shout-outs from the crowd as Wolverine, then Matt felt validated by those who knew he was Gambit. I came in last with recognition points but I’m super proud of whoever did recognize me as Rogue!
Here’s a video of us coming into the stadium. We show up at around :55.
We’re so excited to run again next year, hopefully continue to train and beat our time, and run in more fun costumes! Maybe with less bulk, like the Flintstones.
