Evelyn and I took our turn on Mt. Hoverla today, and I couldn’t be more proud of her. Her biggest motivation was having me all to herself for the entire day, as well as some Skittles at each switchback to keep her spirits up. It seemed like she had years of stories and thoughts bottled up inside her that she needed to share without being interrupted by anyone else.
I was just so happy to ignite the fire of mountain climbing inside another Herndon child. Many more summits are in her future!
