You may have noticed a new addition to our blog. We are keeping a list of the “dinner and a movie” nights that we have on Fridays. We got the idea from our friends from Kyrgyzstan, who do this for New Year’s.
In fact, we scheduled our whole week so that our family time in the evenings is varied and focused on connecting with our kids.
Monday is Game Night – sometimes it’s Chase and Tickle, playing the Wii, or playing computer games together, other times it’s Obstacle Course, Lightsaber Duels, or Flashlight
Tuesday is Music/Free Night – we always put on music and let the kids choose what they want to do
Wednesday is Craft Night – glitter and glue are the current favorites
Thursday is Book Night – we gather up an armful and crowd onto the couch or a bed and just read, read, read
Friday is Dinner and a Movie Night – or, if we’re not that creative, just Whatever You Can Find and a Movie Night
Saturday morning always means Pancakes, and, depending on church services, Sunday morning means Omelets.
Ask Prince and he can always tell you which night is movie night.
