Last night, we met our friend Richard and his two kids down at the seaside. While we were standing on the beach, skipping stones and chatting, we looked out at the water and suddenly saw a smooth, finned shape crest above the waves before diving down again.
It was a dolphin! Right up near the shore! We could hardly believe it, and even after the mad scramble for cell phones and cameras, we were able to watch the beautiful animal playing in the tide for a long time.
I truly believe that the dolphin was a gift to us, a reminder of God’s grace and a promise of good things to come.
