Denver Zoo Lights

ladyherndon Colorado, Home

We met my Uncle Scott and Lord Herndon’s Aunt Cynthia and cousin Doug at the Denver Zoo to see the light display. Even though the kids really enjoyed it (especially Sweet Pea, who loves Christmas lights), I think the adults had even more fun. Or maybe I was the only one squealing and pointing excitedly and running to take a picture of each new thing. I felt like I was about five years old.

We made the most of our new wagon and made the kids play “Sardines” until they started crying.

You can see that I got some really funky effects with my camera. The flash captured the people, but the shutter stayed open to let in the light from the displays and since I couldn’t hold perfectly still, I got some interesting trails.

Looks like fireworks raining down, doesn’t it?

The gorilla was my favorite animal light.

Very smart move by the zoo to get people to visit in the winter. Of course, the only real animals we saw were a few sturdy mountain goats, some seals, and a brave rhino.
