Female Fish

You might not know this because it is not celebrated as much in the United States as in the rest of the world, but today is the 100th International Women’s Day! There are events around the globe to celebrate women in every walk of life. One neat one is a “Join Me on the Bridge” campaign to unite women on bridges all over the world. I can just imagine the crowd that will gather on the Bosphorus Bridge in Istanbul!

When we were living in Kyrgyzstan, I was given a flower and chocolates on this day, and I had never even heard of it before then. This year, it’s kind of neat that my city will host their 1st annual International Women’s Day event.

Even closer to home, I want to send a “flower” to each of the women in my life. You will remember when I counted my fish and the blog post that inspired that. I want to do it again today, but count only my female fish this time.

I want to thank God for all of the women in my life.

-Princess and Sweet Pea
-my mom
-my sisters, sister-in-law, and half sister
-my mother-in-law and other sister-in-law
-my aunts on both sides
-my cousins (all the cousins!)
-my nieces
-my friends, both here, there, and abroad
-my coworkers
-my Christian sisters

See how I am surrounded by loving women! See how I have been richly blessed with fish! See how God has placed each and every one of these ladies into my life, and how life is more beautiful because of them!

Thank you, ladies. May God bless you, as you have blessed me.
