Sweet Pea is one going on four, I think. She has not liked her crib for some time now, and gets very upset when she is awake and trapped in there, longingly watching the older two run around in freedom.
The clincher was when Princess tried to climb in there to keep her company, and ended up pulling the side of the crib off completely, landing on the floor with the metal bars on top of her, and Sweet Pea on top of that. Both were bawling and had black eyes for awhile.
So I spent time on the Internet, searching for a used toddler bed, while Lord Herndon spent time investigating the possibility of converting the crib to a toddler bed. We had received it from the mother of a friend and weren’t sure it was capable of that conversion.
Thankfully, my MacGyver figured it out, and Sweet Pea was happy with her Big Girl Bed for awhile.
It was probably too good to be true, though, because lately, she is not happy unless she is cuddled up with Princess in the twin bed.
It took Princess a few weeks to accept this new situation, but now they are as sweet as two kittens sleeping in the sunshine.
