On Tuesdays in the summertime, I try to take the kids on short trips, usually hikes or, sometimes, up to Denver. This Tuesday, we enjoyed a lovely evening hike in Cheyenne Canyon. Everyone had their job in our little group. Alex was the group leader and soldier, Evelyn was the botanist, Penny was the cartographer, and Theo was the geologist.
It was a beautiful hike through the lushly wooded canyon, with sweet smelling flowery bushes, birdsong, and the bubbling of the creek to lure us on.
