Neither Mike nor I had ever been to the Botanic Gardens before, so it was a real treat to go after lunch. Again, I was impressed that the kids were willing to walk around in the sunshine/rain/sunshine/rain again. Gives me hope for our California trip.
The Botanic Gardens were beautiful, and would make a wonderful date I think, but what saved us in lieu of our kids getting bored looking at, well, lots of plants, was the Deborah Butterfield “The Nature of Horses” exhibit. There were 15 horses made from aspen branch-looking bronze pieces, and they were scattered throughout the huge park. So we had a very good reason to wander around each and every section as they eagerly tried to spot the next horse.
