Next on our around-the-world trip was Greece. We ate at our favorite Greek restaurant, Briarmart (with baklava! I call it “manna from heaven”), made our own Greek feast one night, watched Hercules, Clash of the Titans, Troy and My Big Fat Greek Wedding. (Some of these were watched only by Mike and I, obviously, but it’s fun to theme our own movies to the country that week, since I hardly ever pull Troy out to watch on my own). We checked out a lot of books about Greece and researched the ancient Olympic games, Greek warriors, Grecian urns, Greek myths, and the beautiful city of Santorini.
We even made Grecian gowns for the kids’ Barbies and painted our own Grecian urns! We are going to plant happy red geraniums in the pots and put them on the front porch. Update will follow!
We also beat the heat this week with some waterslide fun in the backyard.
And I think in honor of the blue and white of Santorini, Alex earned his blue belt in Karate! His Blue Party will be in July. Great job Alex!
