After our family’s outing to the Holy Cross Abbey in Cañon City here, several girlfriends were excited about the idea of having a ladies wine tasting/tea party/picnic the Saturday before Mother’s Day to just be together and enjoy each other’s company with good food in a beautiful setting.
Unfortunately, after I had made plans, invited everyone, and started planning the menu, more and more friends were unable to come, until the entire event was canceled. I felt so down about it, so I told Mike that I would love it if he and the kids did it with me instead, and it turned out to be another lovely evening together as a family.
There were a few casualties! As we were passing out the food to the kids, the bottle of rose fell over and drained nearly all of that lovely rosé into the grass! We also broke a wine glass that we had brought home from Turkey. But I honestly wasn’t bothered by these things. I was enjoying the time together and didn’t want to let anything spoil the day.
I am so blessed to be the momma to these lovely, loving kids. Thank you, Mike, for making the day so special for me.
