This summer has had a lot of unexpected events, so I was thankful that Theo was willing to forego his birthday party (this is party year) and instead have a special family experience. Though we go to Breckenridge several times a year, we have never done much at the Frisco Bay Marina, so we were excited to rent a runabout for a couple hours and explore the lake. We arrived early in the morning, watched the safety video, and walked out to our boat.
Mike did all the driving, and each kid got a turn at the wheel. I was happy just taking pictures and enjoying the scenery!
Theo absolutely loved it! The wind was brisk at first and when we would go fast, but the day warmed up beautifully.
At one point, a Chinook flew right over us! We assumed they were practicing some kind of maneuver, but the kids, especially Alex, Theo and Mike, were thrilled.
Later that night, we walked around the town and explored some parks that were new to us.
We also spent some time by the river.
