It’s one of my absolute favorite annual traditions that we have: the Daddy Daughter Dance! And this year, the Y made it so much fun by having a Sock Hop theme. You better believe we were all over that!
I made the girls’ poodle skirts (ahem, the day of!) and we found the rest of the pieces of their costumes by scrounging our closets. The girls were so excited to dress up like the characters in Grease!
We kept saying that Mike needed a leather moto jacket too, but we didn’t have the time or resources to get him one before the dance. I still think he pulled off the look really well!
They had an absolute blast! This year they were even so impressed because they served actual food, like mini hamburgers and hot dogs! Usually it’s a “desert for dinner” kind of thing.
I’m sad that this is probably the last Daddy Daughter Dance we’ll be able to attend at our beloved Y. We’ll have to make it a priority to find similar events in Kyiv to keep our tradition going.
