Lviv: Churches, Chocolate, and Coffee

ladyherndon Home, Ukraine

Our second day in Lviv looked to be cloudy and rainy as well, but we were determined to see what we could. Thankfully, the skies cleared as the morning went on and we were able to see blue.

We started by walking back through the main square and stepping inside the variety of churches. Each church was uniquely beautiful.

We also went into the Lviv City Hall to climb the bell tower for the view. It was certainly worth it!

I misjudged Evelyn’s fear of heights and encouraged her all the way to the top, only to have the bells toll right in our ears and terrify her all the way back down! That was a Mom-fail.

Lviv is known for its coffee and chocolate (seriously, this place was made for me!) and the streets carry those two delicious scents everywhere you walk. So we followed our noses to the Lviv Coffee Manufacturers.

After all this exploring, it was time for lunch. We were spoiled for choice and settled on a pizza parlor with outdoor seating. While enjoying huge pizzas, Evelyn and Mike walked over to buy a couple of ornithopters.

After lunch and with our energy renewed, we traipsed into more churches before finding the Lviv Handmade Chocolate Factory, finally ending our excursions at the Winston Churchill Pub.

Finally, our adventures in Lviv came to an end and we boarded the overnight train, bound for home.
