Even though we ended up driving back up to Denver almost every day for appointments, we stayed in Grandma Beth and Papa Steve’s basement for our last two weeks in Colorado.
We took Evelyn’s friend Josh and his brother Joey to go see Spider-Man: Far From Home, and then celebrated the Fourth of July with a hike around Garden of the Gods and fireworks down at Memorial Park.
We drove down to Cañon City with Grandma Beth and Papa Steve for a picnic at the Holy Cross Abbey and Winery and spent some time in the sunshine by the raging Arkansas River.
We were also able to spend some time over several days with our best friends, the Gillins!
We had a picnic with the Naders and a quick visit with the Kalhoffs.
And we celebrated summer birthdays with cousins at Tom and Danae’s house right before we left. Danae even made each kid a lovely cake. Basically, we’ve been celebrating Penny’s and Theo’s birthday since the beginning of June.
