HP Winter Tour: London Zoo and Stonehenge

The next stop on our HP Winter Tour was the ZSL London Zoo. It was a cold, rain day with not a lot of animals or humans around, but we enjoyed what we saw.

We made sure to see the Reptile House, where Harry accidentally-on-purpose made the glass wall of the snake exhibit disappear. There was a plaque commemorating the scene (behind Alex’s head).

We even saw the inspiration for the Chocolate Frog!

Next, we picked up our rental car and drove over to Salisbury. Though we would have liked to explore Salisbury itself more, we had Stonehenge scheduled in the morning and still needed to make it to York that night, so it was a brief glimpse only.

I hadn’t seen Stonehenge since I studied abroad my junior year of college (2002) and Mike hadn’t seen it since he was 10 (so 30 years ago!). The visitor center had changed a lot for both of us, but was still an impressive site to visit. I hope the kids realized that a well!
