Well, after two days of driving down to Colorado Springs with my mom to look at houses, we have found a home for the next year! (I was determined to find a place during the week my mom was staying with us, because I would never have been able to watch all three kids and look at them on my own.) We signed a rental lease yesterday and will be moving in in two weeks.
When we spoke with the landlord, she said our credit history was impeccable. That was very good to hear because we had worked really hard on paying off some debts while we were living overseas and earning a tax-free salary. Hopefully, this means we can think about buying our first home in a few years.
The wanderlust is still very much in our hearts, so I know we will travel again. But for now, it feels really good to plant our feet a bit in familiar soil.
