A Collection of Cousins and Curious George

ladyherndon Colorado, Home

This was the weekend when we were slated to go visit Grandma Beth and Papa Steve out on the frontier (literally) in Rangely, Colorado, but our exhaustion overcame us and we begged forgiveness for postponing our trip for a later date. Plus, we actually wanted to see what our house looked like on the weekend.

Thankfully, we didn’t have to miss out on seeing them. They came to us instead!

They arrived Friday evening and we enjoyed dinner together with Mike’s brother Tom and his family (Danae, Eli, Cassie, and Allie), and then all of us attended Eli’s soccer game the next morning. It was a nice field trip for Prince’s next preschool unit, Sports.

There is something very heart-warming about watching little kids chase a ball across a field.

We asked Prince if he’d like to play soccer, and he said no. Then I asked him if he’d like to join Karate or TaeKwon-Do, and he said yes.

Later, when he was dictating to me a journal entry about his favorite sport, he started talking about “throwing the ball back into play” and “kicking it to my friends,” so I gathered he meant soccer.

So we don’t know what he’ll do yet, but he has a lot of options.

We got to enjoy family time all weekend, and managed a group shot of all the kiddos at once. Not all smiling at once, but hey, with this many young kids, the chances of that are slim.

We just couldn’t get enough fun in this weekend, and went to a huge event at School Crossing, where they had Curious George:

“Betty Ross” helping kids make their own flags:

And Tall Tales with Paul Bunyan. (That’s Princess learning how to flip a pancake. Real pancakes.)
