Herndon Homeschool Preschool (that’s a mouthful)

ladyherndon Colorado, Home

The Herndon Homeschool is still underway, and our current theme is Community Helpers. We’ve been learning about police officers, firefighters, doctors, dentists, vets, farmers, mailmen (postal workers to be PC about it), etc. and how they all help people in different ways. We hang our worksheets and craft projects on the refrigerator every night so that Daddy can see and admire them when he comes home.

I try to incorporate a field trip into every unit, so Prince and I made a special visit to the eye doctor. He was examined and followed directions so well that I wondered whose son he was.

They performed one test on him to check the contour of his eye, and he even got to try on some lenses.

Thank God, he doesn’t need them. Yet.

Of course, Princess had to try some herself.

The funny thing was, I thought that kids weren’t allowed to get revenge on their parents until they were much older. Why, then, was Prince allowed to push the button for the puff-of-air test on me? Anyone who wears contacts or glasses must know that the puff-of-air test is the worst part of an eye exam. To let a four-year-old be at the trigger? Cruel and unusual punishment.
