A Good Impression

Lord Herndon has been pretty nervous this summer about teaching third grade for the first time. He is not sure about how to guide these younger kids through school. It felt like fourth graders were “almost fifth graders,” but third graders were “still second graders.” So when he got this email the first week of school, he was pretty stoked.

Hi [Lord Herndon],

Thanks so much for your time this afternoon! I feel really good about this school year. [My son] is really starting to get excited!

I just thought you’d want to know that after I put my daughter to bed tonight and went to put [my son] to bed, he was laying out his nice “church clothes” to wear to school tomorrow. I said, “Wow, that’s a nice outfit, bud! You’ll look so handsome!” He said, “I’m going to dress like [Lord Herndon] tomorrow! I can’t wait ’til he sees me!” HA! Isn’t that so funny? After he finished laying out his clothes, he got some change to put in his pocket because he said that whenever you get something out of your pocket, he can hear the change jingle. And then he put a pen on his shirt pocket. I have also been instructed to get him some transformer cuff links. Needless to say, I think he likes his new teacher. 🙂

Thanks again,

[A Happy Parent]

Really, does it get any better than that?
