I Mustache You a Question Dress (New Look 6146)

ladyherndon Saw That, Sew This

This is from about… egads, three years ago?

The sad but true story of this fun dress: I had cut it out and started sewing it within the first few months of Theo’s birth, my fourth. I figured, it would be sad to wait until my body settled on its new shape to start sewing for myself again. So I cut it out of the cutest white cotton fabric with mustaches, top hats, and pointing fingers, with tiny polka dots for the lining, and a pencil skirt made of black pleather. So fun!

For Theo’s first birthday, I did a mustache theme and wanted to finish the dress to wear for the party. But when I got it all done, it was too big in the bust! So I offered it to my bestie Nicole, who has a bigger rib cage, and it fit her so well I gave it to her. She wore it for a date night and I asked her to send me pics.

I’d love to try this again in my current size, because the peplums are super cute and flattering and I’d totally rock the mustaches and pleather skirt!
