Here’s my latest addition to my me-made wardrobe! I love bow blouses, even though I only own one RTW one. So when I finally bit the bullet and bought this silky polyester peachskin fabric from Joann’s that I’ve been lusting after for awhile, it was fun to avoid my natural tendency to make it into a dress and make a bow blouse instead!
I used Simplicity 1779 view C, with the sleeves from view E. The pattern was very easy to follow and made good design sense for the bow that ties in front. The fabric is soft and wonderful to work with, and happily not see-through at all.
I sewed a straight size 10, since I’ve been a size 10 in dresses, but it was a little tight in the chest and waist, so I should have gone up a size. Still wearable and comfortable though, but a note to make for next time.
I used simple black buttons from my Grandma’s huge stash. I love the colors, I think it will work for all seasons and with shorts, skirts, or pants.
