Easy Breezy Greek Chiton for Evelyn (McCall’s 7589)

ladyherndon Saw That, Sew This

I made this maxi dress for Evelyn last summer, but better late than never to actually post it, eh?

She’s been reading voraciously, and ever since she read the Goddess Girls series and the Percy Jackson series, she’s wanted a chiton like Greek girls wear. So I found McCall’s 7589 and she picked out some fabric from my Grandma’s Stash. I added pockets, because she believes in pockets as much as I do. We worked on it together, and she was so excited to wear it that she didn’t wait for the waistline elastic.

Later, we added the elastic band in the waist and she wore it again to the airshow last September.
