Winter Wonderland Dresses (New Look 6335)

ladyherndon Saw That, Sew This

These were the girls’ dresses for Christmas last year. Colorado was so gracious as to give me snow in April so I could get some authentic pictures, even though I wished I had taken some around the tree during the holidays. I bought the cotton fabric several years ago because they were just too beautiful to pass up. Evelyn’s was made from a 12 Days of Christmas fabric with beautiful illustrations of each character. Penny’s was a mosaic metallic poinsettia cotton. I used a plaid fabric and a Christmas ruffled trim from my Grandma for the skirt linings, and despite my dislike of tulle, I included a ruffled layer to add fullness to the skirts. The Peter Pan collars and cap sleeves are made from a red velvet, also from my Grandma.

The girls love them and wear them all the time, even after Christmas. I think they’ll even fit next year!
