Breezy Basics Top in Navy and Galactic Tactic Pants in Paint Pattern (New Look 6216)

ladyherndon Saw That, Sew This

Hello again!

It might look like I’m sewing a posting a new outfit almost daily, but the truth is I get something sewn and it takes me awhile to get pics and then post the project.

I saw this New Look 6216 pattern while looking for others on my list, and I liked the tshirt shape so I grabbed it. When I looked at it again later, I decided to stretch myself and make the pants too! They are a loose fitting, lightly gathered woven pants with pockets, and I don’t have anything like it in my wardrobe so I went for it.

The pants are made from some kind of cotton blend, very soft and drapey. I didn’t have a nice navy knit for the top so I ran to Joann’s and found some.

I like the way the pants fit, soft and comfortable but not pajama pants. I think with the wrong color combo these would look like scrubs! I’m definitely making another tshirt, at least a heather gray one if not a black one and a striped on as well. The sleeves are part of the bodice so it’s only a front, back, and neck binding, and I like the comfortable fit a lot. As for the pants, I might make another pair in a more structured fabric sometime. but for now, I’m enjoying these!
