Another backyard photoshoot! I always have great plans to find a nicer photo location but it doesn’t work out that way, most of the time.
Here’s a quick project that happened quite spontaneously. I was looking for a lightweight navy knit to make a t-shirt for another me-made outfit (which I will debut tomorrow), and while at Joann’s I found this fabulous, thick navy knit, I think it might even be scuba knit. It feels and moves so nicely, I grabbed a yard and busted out this super quick pencil skirt from theĀ Gertie Sews Vintage Casual book that Beth bought me.
I sewed the size 8 based on my waist measurement, but with this kind of knit and how it fit I think I can sew a size 6 next time. And there will be a next time! I am going to look for other colors because I think I need at least a black one too. This fabric is so dense that it doesn’t show any lines, which I have a pet peeve about.
So fast to make, fun to wear, and comfy!
I have been insatiable lately, barely finishing one project before I’m eyeing my fabric stash and pattern stack for the next one. I think it’s a combination of being inspired to make new a different things, having a lot of fun fabric to pick from, and feeling happy and confident in my body after so many years.
