This lovely scarf was made awhile ago, but I can’t explain what the delay was to post it. It is made from a square of the softest plaid I could find at Joanns. I just bought a yard, cut it square, stitched about 1 1/4″ inside the perimeter, then fringed the edges by pulling the long threads out until I reached my stitching line.
One reason I love this version so much, besides how soft it is, is that it is a smaller square and therefore less bulky than the blanket scarves I’ve seen for sale. I like the look and feel of them, but I don’t want to wear a huge bib under my chin, so this one is a nice compromise. I plan to find another color or two and make a few more. Plus, the piece I cut off is long and skinny enough to make a traditional scarf for one of the girls. Christmas ideas?
