Wrap It Up Top in Crushed Cherry (New Look 6150)

ladyherndon Saw That, Sew This

Happy New Year’s Eve!

More and more red! This isn’t even the last one. I nabbed a bit of this red crushed velvet knit on sale at Hobby Lobby a few weeks ago and whipped up this shirt with it using New Look 6150.

I’ve been enjoying this week off, relaxing at home with the family while Mike recovers from his second surgery (to remove the plates in his foot), and treating myself to a lot of personal sewing while my store is on vacation. I actually sewed two shirts in one day, so the other will appear on here soon. I need to keep thinking of shirts and make some more bottoms as well so I can have more hand-sewn choices in daily dressing.

This pattern was very easy. I cut a size 12 because I have learned that New Look patterns fit me better across the shoulders in a 12 rather than a 10. The only part I had to change was I took in an extra inch at the bottom of the sleeves so they would be more tapered and fit better.

Until next year!
