I’m just now catching on to the whole “jogger pants” trend. I don’t think I’ll ever wear them with heels, but I can see the value as sweatpants and I even saw super cute ones for working out, so I’m all in. I picked up a Simplicity pattern with sizes for joggers for the whole family, and now that I see how comfy they are, this is the beginning of sewing some for everyone.
For this first pair, I used this amazing double-knit from my Grandma’s Stash. Look at it! It’s two layers of knit with some kind of Poly-Fil in between.
This means these babies are incredibly warm. Grandma also kindly left me so many different colors of knit ribbing, so I was able to find a similar shade of gray for the waistband and leg bands easily.
Pocketses……
The pattern calls for a faux tie at the center front waistband, but I haven’t yet bought twill tape in the same gray so I just wear them as-is for now.
And now to make a pair for everyone in my family! I have boxes and boxes of sweatshirt knit that is just waiting for me, including some with Batman symbols all over it!
*** Update ***
While the fabric on my joggers unfortunately pilled and got to be too big, I did make some for Mike using the same pattern and he wears them almost every night.
