Yes, I Still Sew for My Kids

My oldest son is almost seven, and has been a Star Wars fan for several years now. I was just remembering his fifth birthday party: it had a LEGO Star Wars theme. What does he want to do for his seventh? You got it. LEGO Star Wars.

He loves LEGOs. He loves Star Wars. He loves LEGO Star Wars.

It makes gift ideas very easy.

He has watched me sew quite a few fun dresses for my two girls and for myself, all the while patiently asking, in his quiet way, for me to sew something for him. So, during one trip to Mill Outlet (not my favorite fabric shop but they do have a large selection), I let him pick out his own material and buttons, and I kept my promise to make him a Star Wars shirt.

I use this pattern a lot for the white shirt in my Flynn Rider costume (with 3/4 length sleeves and a squared mandarin collar), so it went together really quickly. This is high-quality cotton with some stretch, vibrant colors, and a solid feel. It was fun to “go boy” a little.

Ooooohkay. Back to my next dress…..
